Explore the exhibitions The Call of the Forest and Building Sculptures by Krištof Kintera with your family. The guide will focus on your curious questions and interesting details about the displayed works.
The Call of the Forest is Kristýna and Marek Milde's first institutional exhibition in Prague. It presents works that playfully challenge the dichotomy between nature and culture. The illustrations blur the boundaries between the domestic and the wild, interwoven with unconventional elements and materials. Key pieces of the exhibition include works created specifically for Kunsthalle Praha – the New York taxi filled with living trees, Arbomobile (2024), and the video animation The Call of the Forest (2024), which breathe life into the spaces of Gallery 3.
In the park at Klárov, opposite Kunsthalle Praha, you'll visit the gateway to the sculptural microcity of artist Krištof Kintera, where he has placed Building Sculptures – seven Prague-based sculptures from the second half of the last century. Concrete miniatures of buildings, sensitively inserted into the uneven terrain, together reflect a traditional urban ensemble, derived from existing, demolished, or utopian structures. It includes a church, a bank, a television transmitter, a department store, a central telecommunications building, a housing estate, and a hotel. All of this naturally integrates with the park's central and only original element – the sculpture of a girl with a dove from 1958 by Václav Šimek.
