TransformArt: Otherness, Difference, and Marginalised Groups in Art (CZE)

Date: 2/3–11/5 2026

The upcoming TransformArt series will focus on themes that often remain outside the mainstream of attention. We will explore questions of difference, otherness, and marginalised phenomena or groups, and how these experiences are reflected in contemporary art.

We will examine how art in the age of posthumanism responds to shifts in our understanding of the world and of humanity’s place within it. Can difference remain a meaningful theme at a time when established boundaries are dissolving and identities are becoming fluid? And what role do artists play who have long been engaged with peripheral or marginal perspectives?

We will seek answers through lectures by experts and presentations by artists who bring to the fore themes and voices that are frequently overlooked. The course will once again loosely connect to the upcoming exhibitions sikau/pubalova: ALL THINGS DIGESTING and William Kentridge: The Battle Between YES and NO.
