SCULPTING SOUNDS
The workshop offers the opportunity to explore the creation of atmospheric sounds and noises and to experiment with the principles of connecting a soundtrack to a specific video. Participants will seek answers to questions such as where the boundaries lie between sound and music, or between musical instruments and sound objects, and how best to record various sounds and shape them into meaningful forms. The workshop will also focus on how different sound compositions can change the emotional and narrative impact of a video.
The audiovisual installation by Lunchmeat Studio titled The Grief of Misfit Cathedrals serves as inspiration for the creative process. The workshop is conducted in collaboration with sound artist Stanislav Abrahám.
