Hofmann’s performance will resonate with the concept of the exhibition Memory of Touch, which explores vulnerability and fragility as forms of resilience and conscious presence. His long term artistic practice treats the body and skin as permeable membranes, and for Kunsthalle Praha, he is preparing an immersive environment responding to the exhibition's dialogue between intimacy and distance, discomfort and pleasure. Rather than merely passing by the artworks, the performers will create a living atmosphere around them, expanding the exhibition narrative throughout the entire space. In doing so, they will temporarily transform the gallery into a series of tableaux vivants that illuminate the relationships between body, space, and viewer.
At the same time, the performance will thoughtfully engage with the architecture of Kunsthalle Praha. The staircase, freight elevator, and transitions between gallery and public areas will all become part of the choreography. Lukáš Hoffmann builds here on his experience with creating large scale performative structures that connect architecture, movement, and a clearly articulated rhythm.
