READ Catalogue & Limited Edition Launch with Elmgreen & Dragset + Kewu DJ set

We cordially invite you to the launch of the READ catalogue and its limited collector's edition with the personal participation of the Scandinavian artist duo Elmgreen & Dragset. The event takes place on Wednesday, 14 February at 7 PM in our Café.

The extensive exhibition catalogue includes contributions from renowned scholars and a curatorial text by Elmgreen & Dragset themselves, ranging in themes from the Czech history of Samizdat publishing to the current challenges to books, libraries and freedom of speech in the digital era. The exhibition project and its focus on the dynamic relationship between language, books, and art will be documented through this richly illustrated catalogue.

A limited book edition created for Kunsthalle Praha consisting of thirty multiples. Each item is signed, stamped, numbered, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The exhibition catalog is housed within a box resembling a hollowed-out book, with a leather spine and an original marbled cover design. It has a magnetic closure and is fitted with a red silk ribbon so that the catalog can be removed easily. Each of the books in the limited edition has the title of the publication handwritten on the spine by the artists and also bears their signatures on the inside.
