To mark its fourth anniversary, Kunsthalle Praha will unveil a new installation called PIN on the façade of its building at Klárov. Designed by the duo LexováSmetana, the work draws on the image of a map pin, symbolically placing Kunsthalle Praha within the city’s cultural landscape.
One of the project’s key goals is to bring contemporary art to Klárov, a historic part of the city known for its cultural heritage, and to encourage curiosity about the exhibition programme inside the gallery. The kinetic object also responds to the building’s former role as a power substation and to the legacy of Zdeněk Pešánek, a pioneer of kinetic art whose sculptures were originally planned for this site in the 1930s.
The project will be presented by curator Martina Freitag together with the artist duo LexováSmetana.
