Explore drawing as a tool for personal expression under the guidance of designer Marie Špačková. You will transform designer ceramic mugs into unique, original works of art by drawing directly onto the ceramics with pencils. Subsequent glazing and firing will fix the designs, giving them a permanent form.
The workshop ties in with William Kentridge’s exhibition Self-Portrait as a Coffee Pot, a film series in which the artist reflects on the creative process, drawing, and the studio as a space for thought through a dialogue with his alter egos.
Marie Špačková is a designer focused on ceramics and jewelry. Her work combines playfulness, experimentation, and a sensitivity to materials, utilizing simple gestures and translating them into physical objects. The workshop price includes a designer mug by Marie Špačková; after firing, the finished pieces will be available for pickup at the Kunsthalle Praha reception within 14 days.
