Bergman & Hartung with school

The exhibition Anna-Eva Bergman & Hans Hartung: And We’ll Never Be Parted tells the story of two major figures of 20th-century abstract painting. Though partners in life, each maintained a distinctive artistic style – drawing inspiration from nature, the cosmos, and music, yet expressing these themes in very different ways.

During the tour, we’ll focus on Hartung’s bold gestural abstractions and Bergman’s landscape-inspired motifs, while exploring the sources of their creative inspiration. We’ll compare their approaches to painting and open up a discussion on how collaboration can flourish even in difference.
