About the collection
Kunsthalle Praha Collection is an institutional collection of modern and contemporary art with a focus on Central Europe in an international context. It is developed through research, acquisitions, partnerships, and long-term loans of artworks, and documents selected artistic movements of the 20th and 21st centuries. Kunsthalle Praha Collection also includes, among other things, the Pudil Family Foundation Collection, which is on permanent loan. Although the collection is not permanently on display, Kunsthalle Praha Collection is an integral part of Kunsthalle Praha as an exhibition institution and serves as a source for research, exhibitions, and public programmes.
Job description
Collection Assistant, reporting directly to the Collection Manager at Kunsthalle Praha, will be responsible for the following:

managing external storage arrangements and the collection’s OneDrive

maintaining and organising the collection calendar
-
placing orders for the Collection Department
-
assisting with the organisation of business trips
-
preparing presentations for the purposes of the Collection Department
-
assisting the Registrar and Conservator in the storage facility (artwork handovers, cleaning and organising the space, collection inventory, basic artwork identification, collection photography)
-
supervising the storage facility during research visits
-
continuously updating data in the collection database according to instructions from the Collection Manager and Registrar
-
assisting with the migration/integration of collection data with the new service provider
-
assisting with the preparation of materials for the online presentation of the collection
-
actively representing the Collection Department at regular digital training sessions and implementing acquired knowledge into the department’s practice
-
researching and obtaining image and other relevant licences, as well as carrying out other tasks related to the key activities of the Collection Department
-
performing other ad hoc tasks according to the current needs of the department
Requirements
-
studies and knowledge in art history or related fields are welcome but not required
-
minimum secondary education
-
at least two years of experience in administration and assistant roles
-
knowledge of record management and electronic database creation
-
strong IT skills and proficiency in relevant software
-
very good command of Czech and English
